Fun in the Sun (USSSA)

The BallHawks come out with something to prove this weekend and did so by going 7-0 in Jackson, Tn. scoring 52 runs while only giving up 11. We did not take the bats with us last week but did this week and the defense was great as always. Congrats to Courtney Petty, she ruled the circle this week both mentally and physically. Also great job Becky behind the plate you kept runners close to their bag all weekend. The whole team played great and you deserve every bit of praise that you received this weekend! Thanks to all the good competition - lady thunder - Dyersburg Angels - MC Magic - Downstate Rippers -Collierville Dragons - Xtreme Kaos - MIDDLE TN STRIKERS.

Do not let up, we have 3 state tourneys left on our schedule. Go Hawks!!

Optic Yellow Fever (usfa)

The BallHawks come out flat and never really got it together. The defense started out slow but got better as the weekend went along. The bats never got hot and it showed in the results. You cannot win ballgames if you don't score. We will be back in Jackson next weekend but we need to take our bats with us this time around. Go Hawks!!

USFA Summer Bash 7

The BallHawks finish 2nd the Summer Bash. We really played poorly on saturday but managed to right the ship some on sunday. Going to the losers bracket in game 1 forced us to have to win 4 in a row to get back to the the ship. When we reached that ship we met a tough Comets97 team that we had nothing for. You can't make any mistakes against teams like this, and we made many. Congrats to the Comets and all the other good competition this weekend. Congrats to Big K on her All Tourney Award we are very proud of you! We are also VERY proud of every girl that puts on the purple, you may make mistakes but you never quit and you do leave it out on the field. It's been said before and here it is again "This WILL be a good ball team". Rest a week and we are headed west. Up next is Jackson,TN. Go Hawks!!

NSA Triple Play

The BallHawks finish 2nd in the Triple Play. Wins over Wildfire, Goodlettsville Storm(2-1), and Worth97(4-3) sent us to the championship in the winners bracket. The Hawks would fall to a good Worth team 7-0 in game 1 and in dramatic fashion in the "if " game 5-4. Congrats Worth97. The bats were still cold but the defense really stepped up and kept us in some games this weekend.Good job LiL K for shouldering the load in the cirlce , Courtney and Big K will be back next week. Let's get those bats warmed up Wed. night and come out firing next week in Franklin.

Cost of the tourney : $185

Price of a good bat : $299

Seeing Worth's pitching 3 straight games : PRICELESS :)

Go Hawks!!

BallHawks play poorly in the Clash

The BallHawks go 2-2 in the Clash for Cash in Franklin this weekend. The bats never got hot and the defense was just about as bad. This was a good wake-up call and I hope everyone will respond well to it. Remember girls, nothing will be given to you just because you step on the field. You have to play ALL OUT on every play of every inning in every game.We hope to see the real BallHawks next week in the Triple Play. Go Hawks!

BallHawks finish 3rd at Slugfest 08' in Clarksville

The Hawks struggle a bit this weekend at the plate and in the field. They did however manage to go 6-2 after getting sent to the losers bracket in game 1 by IL. Southern Express (champs). The ballhawks win 4 in a row before losing to Nick and his sidekicks 3-4 (the ones calling us the chicken hawks). All of the other teams were great and we had a lot of fun. We are still very proud of the effort level of the girls. Hopefully we will play better the next time out. Go Hawks!!

Old Stage Printing Classic in Pigeon Forge

BallHawks have an impressive showing in the Classic going 6-0 scoring 72 runs while allowing only 6. Pool play began with a 13-0 victory over the Knoxville Nightmares and a 5-2 win vs NC Mountian Fury. Bracket play began in the same fashion with a 13-0 win over NC Extreme. The BallHawks defeated TN White Lightning 16-0 in the 2nd round. The bats and defense would stay alive in the semi's to beat the Morristown Hurricanes 17-2 to leave us waiting for someone in the finals. That someone would be the tough NC Mountian Fury, the Hawks take that game 8-2 to win the Championship. The whole team played great all weekend. Congrats to Destiny Ginn for winning the tournament MVP and to Stevie Baird for her Offensive MVP award. Go Hawks!!

Spring Friendly 3

BallHawks beat the Indiana Heartbreakers 1-0 in their only game before the tourney was cancelled due to rain.

Easter Bash

BallHawks struggle in the one day easter tourney, winning only 1 game out of 3. We hit the ball pretty well but the throwing errors were a problem all day. Hopefully everyone will be back at their regular positions next week and we can get back to where we need to be as a team. Go Hawks!!

BallHawks win Bama Babe's Tournament in Montgomery, Alabama

3/15/08 The BallHawks run from bad weather in Tennessee and find themselves in Montgomery, Alabama. The girls got the bats going a little this weekend scoring 37 runs, while the defense continues to get better only allowing 3. The whole team played well but there were two girls that have to be mentioned Becky Melton and Jada Dotson absolutly went off at the plate. We had a nice trip and that 80 degree weather was awsome. Good job ladies and Go Hawks!!

3/3/08

The Ballhawks would like to to thank Worth97 and the Clarksville Patriots for gettting together with us for a much needed 5 games this weekend. The coaches, players, and families of both teams were great. Maybe we can do it again some time. Go Hawks!!

Indy 08' (3rd place)

The BallHawks lose in the opener 2-0 to the Indy Diamond Chicks, then get a nice win vs the Indy Twist 3-2. We finish the night off at about 1:00 am with an 11-0 victory over Wisconsin Triple Play. We come out Sunday with some solid defense, but lose 2-1 to Team Indiana. The girls played good defense the whole weekend (allowing only 6 runs in 4 games) but never really got the bats going. It will be a deadly combination if the D and O are on at the same time. Let's work hard on our hitting the rest of the winter and see how much we can improve. We are very proud of our team and their families. The BallHawk fans were the loudest in the building, by far! I hope that you continue to support the girls like that for years to come.

Go BallHawks!!

Fall 07'

The BallHawks took the field together for the first time this fall. We had decided to use these tourny's as practice, to see great competition, and to show the girls why they will be working on what they are during the winter. We started out slow and were not about to try and make a play! :) But as time past, you could see them coming together a little. They were trying to make a play, but just not finishing. By the end of fall they were making more plays, and with less intruction. Thanks to some of that great competition, we now know what needs to be worked on and so do the girls. This WILL be a good ball team. And we are very excited to get started with winter workouts.

Go Hawks!!
